1) E-commerce company Snapdeal has launched 'Sanjeevani' to connect COVID-19 patients with potential plasma donors, joining the growing roster of companies that have introduced digital tools to help people amid the deadly second wave of the pandemic.

2) An online flood reporting and information management system was launched on Saturday in Assam.
The online system developed jointly by Assam State Disaster Management Agency and UNICEF will replace the existing manual flood control mechanism.

3) Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has been conferred with “Green Urja Award” for being the Leading Public Institution in Financing Institution for Renewable Energy this year by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

4) The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has launched a scheme to provide financial and medical assistance to its officials and staff members affected by the pandemic.
The scheme called ‘Aashvaasan’ also offers essential supplies and transport support to covid-affected staff members.

5) Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has entered into a royalty-free, non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreement with Eli Lilly and Co for the manufacture and commercialization of the drug, Baricitinib, in India.

8) Bank of Baroda has launched a micro-website that will serve as an emergency networking platform for all employees amid the 2nd wave of COVID-19.

The microsite will offer vital data, including a network of plasma donors to employees.

9) Chairman of Subros Ltd Ramesh Suri passed away in May 2021. He was the promoter and co-founder of Subros, India’s largest supplier of automotive air-conditioning and thermal products.

10) Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 8th instalment of over Rs 20,000 crore to more than 9.5 crore farmer beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6000 per year is provided to 14 crore eligible beneficiary farmer families annually, payable in three equal 4-monthly installments of Rs 2000 each.

11) The former Urdu newsreader of All India Radio, Afsar Ali Jafri passed away in May 2021. He was associated with the Urdu unit of the News Services Division of All India Radio for about 40 years.
