1) World Wide Fund has inducted Upasana Kamineni, Director, Apollo Hospitals, as “Ambassador of Forest Frontline Heroes” with the aim to appreciate the efforts of frontline workers in hospitals and in the wildlife protection space. 2) British lawyer Karim Khan was sworn as the new chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, pledging to reach out to nations that are not members of the court and to try to hold trials in countries where crimes are committed.

3) A Rubber Board research farm on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam now sports the world’s first genetically modified (GM) rubber plant tailored for the climatic conditions in the Northeast.

4) CyberPeace Foundation and WhatsApp have announced the launch of the second edition of their 'Cyber Ethics and Online Safety Programme' for students.
➨The programme has been launched in consultation with UNICEF and state police authorities. In the first phase, the program created awareness about safe online behaviour among students across five states -- Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
➨This time, the programme is being extended to three more states in the country: Assam, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

5) New Zealand Laurel Hubbard created history on Monday as the first transgender athlete to make it to the Olympics after she was picked to represent New Zealand in the women’s super-heavyweight (+87kg) category.
➨She had earlier become the first transgender athlete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Gold Coast, where she suffered a career-threatening elbow injury during her event.

6) Tunisia's Ons Jabeur made history when she became the first Arab woman to win a WTA title, beating Russian Daria Kasatkina in the final of the grasscourt event in Birmingham.
➨Jabeur, a trailblazer for North African women's tennis, won 7-5 6-4 to finally claim a title after losing two previous finals.

7) Malaysia has surpassed Indonesia to become the biggest crude palm oil (CPO) exporter to top consumer India in 2020/21, after Indonesia imposed heavy taxes on exports of the edible oil last year, industry officials told Reuters.

8) Filmmaker-writer Tahira Kashyap Khurrana announced her upcoming book about motherhood, titled The 7 Sins of Being A Mother.
➨This is her fifth book and the second she wrote amid the pandemic.
➠Last year, the filmmaker had released 12 Commandments of Being A Woman, which she finished writing during the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
