1) Italy launched its first ever mega food park project in India involving food processing facilities as the two sides plan to expand ties in the backdrop of PM Narendra Modi’s proposed visit there.
The pilot project “The Mega Food Park” was launched in virtual mode, with the signing of a Letter of Intent between the ICE Office in Mumbai and Fanidhar Mega Food Park, in Gujarat.

2) British actress Helen McCrory, who starred in the television show Peaky Blinders and the Harry Potter movies, passed away in April 2021.

8) In a bid to give a fillip to digital payments banks, the Reserve Bank of India has hiked the maximum end of day balance for payment banks to Rs 2 lakh from Rs 1 lakh.

9) Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium will host the T20 World Cup final in November this year.

10) Former world champion Mirabai Chanu set the right tone in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics by clinching a bronze medal at the Asian Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

11) A senior officer of the Indian Information Service Narendra Kaushal passed away following COVID-19 infection. He was admitted in Rishikesh AIIMS hospital.

12) The first-ever oxygen express carrying 7 empty tankers has departed from Mumbai for Vishakhapatnam. It will ferry the liquid oxygen plant for Maharashtra from a steel plant in Andhra Pradesh.
