1) 12-year-old Indian origin boy, Abhimanyu Mishra became the youngest-ever Grandmaster in chess.
➨Abhimanyu, who comes from New Jersey, broke the record of 12 years and 7 months set by GM Sergey Karjakin in 2002.
➨Abhimanyu, who is 12 years, 4 months, and 25 days, picked up his third GM norm in Budapest after having already crossed the 2500 Elo rating barrier. He achieved the feat at the Vezerkepzo GM Mix tournament in Budapest.
2) The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and Intel India launched a first-of-its-kind initiative called ''Fund for Industrial Research Engagement'' (FIRE), that will enable Indians to pursue industry-relevant research in the areas of deep technologies.
3) Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad launched the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).

4) With concerns mounting over the impact of climate change on Himalayan glaciers, the Ministry of Jal Shakti has released an updated atlas of glacial lakes that are part of the Ganga river basin.
➨About 4,707 glacial lakes have been mapped in the Ganga basin. Last December, a similar inventory of glacial lakes was prepared for the Indus river basin.
5) Aditi Sharma, 30, from Uttarkashi and Kajal from Dehradun have become first two transwomen in Uttarakhand to get their ‘official trans identity'. They were born in a male body but experienced constant surge in female hormones.
