1) The Andhra Pradesh government came out with the new 'AP Information Technology Policy 2021-24' that is expected to generate more than 55,000 jobs over the next three years.
➨The State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, approved the new policy, which is also expected to create 1.65 lakh indirect employment thereby ensuring a holistic eco system development.

2) The first lot of 12 units of 10m Short Span Bridging System (SSBS) designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been inducted into the Indian Army.
➨ The bridges were inducted into the force by Army Chief General M.M. Naravane during a ceremony held at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment.

5) The Ministry of Youth affairs & Sports has decided to grant recognition to WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as National Sports Federation (NSF) for promotion and development of the Kickboxing sport in India.
➨WAKO India Kickboxing Federation is affiliated to World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), which is the International Federation for the sport of Kickboxing.
6) Superstar athlete Deepika Kumari completed a hat-trick of gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris after winning the women’s individual recurve event.
➠Deepika Kumari beat Elena Osipova of Russia 6-0 in the final to clinch her third gold medal at the tournament. Deepika has also won the top prize in the mixed team and women's individual recurve events.
7) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced some fresh relief measures for the economy, the first such package after the second COVID-19 wave.
➨The government pegged the total financial implications of the package, which included the reiteration of some steps that were already announced such as the provision of food grains to the poor till November and higher fertiliser subsidies, at ₹6,28,993 crore.
8) Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech has just published the trial data for its COVID-19 vaccine, Covaxin, which claims the India-made vaccine to be 77.8% effective against the coronavirus.
➨The vaccine was found to have 93% efficacy against severe cases of COVID-19 and 63% efficacy against asymptomatic transmission.

A gifted midfielder of the 1970s, he shared the dressing room with stalwarts of Indian football like Inder Singh and Doraiswamy Natraj.
