1) The Union Health Ministry has finalised arrangements with Hyderabad-based vaccine manufacturer Biological-E to reserve 30 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses for which it will be making an advance payment of Rs 1500 crore.

2) Indian Navy's hydrographic survey ship Sandhayak was decommissioned at the naval dockyard in Visakhapatnam on Friday after serving the nation for 40 years.
Sandhayak also participated in the maiden joint INDO-US HADR (humanitarian assistance and disaster relief) exercise 'Tiger-Triumph' in 2019.
The ship was commissioned to the Indian Navy on February 26, 1981.

3) The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) monetary policy committee (MPC) kept the key lending rate or the repo rate unchanged at 4 per cent for a sixth straight time after a three-day meeting.

4) United Airlines announced plans to buy 15 planes from airline startup Boom Supersonic in a move that could revive the high-speed form of air travel after the Concorde was wound down in 2003.
Under the deal, United would purchase Boom's "Overture" aircraft once the planes meet "United's demanding safety, operating and sustainability requirements" with an aim to start passenger travel in 2029.

5) China successfully launched the first of a new generation meteorological satellite into planned orbit which will be used in the fields of weather analysis, environmental and disaster monitoring.
The satellite, Fengyun-4B (FY-4B), was launched by a Long March-3B rocket in the early hours from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan Province.

6) Jammu and Kashmir government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private airline for the transportation of perishable horticulture and agricultural produce to various destinations across the country.

7) Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan addressed the 149th session of the Executive Board meeting of the World Health Organization through video conference.
He has successfully completed his term as the Chairman of the Executive Board of WHO.
In May 2020, he was entrusted with the responsibility of becoming the Chairman of the Executive Board.

8) Facebook Inc has appointed Marne Levine as its new chief business officer, a new post in the executive ranks of the tech-giant. Prior to the new role, Levine was the vice president of global partnership at Facebook.

9) India is set to get 8 new Flying Training Academies under the liberalised Flying Training Organisation (FTO) policy of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). These academies will be set up at Belagavi, Jalgaon, Kalaburagi, Khajuraho and Lilabari.

11) The Telangana government will take up digital survey of agriculture land on a pilot basis from June 11. The survey will be taken up in 27 villages, including three from Gajwel assembly constituency, represented by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
