1) Padma Shree awardee and former national president of the Indian Medical Association Dr KK Aggarwal has passed away after battling Covid-19 for several days at New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
A cardiologist by profession, he was also the head of the Heart Care Foundation of India. He also received the Dr BC Roy Award in 2005 and Padma Shree in 2010.
2) The Government of India has released Rs 5,968 Crore to 15 States for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the financial year 2021-22. This is the first tranche of the four to be released in this financial year.
3) Sir David Attenborough, world-renowned broadcaster and natural historian, has been named COP26 People's Advocate for the U.K.'s Presidency of the UN climate change summit in Glasgow this November.
4) Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the licence of United Co-operative Bank Ltd, Bagnan, West Bengal, as it does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.

He defeated Filipino-American Brandon Vera to become the heavyweight world champion in the Singapore-based One Championship.
9) The Ladakh administration has postponed the famous ‘Sindhu Darshan’ festival in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases.
The festival is held in Leh every year in June on the full moon day of Guru Purnima and this year it was scheduled to be held from June 19 to 27, 2021.
Hemis National Park is a high altitude national park in Ladakh.

Jain has been with Financial Express for over a decade. He finished his Masters from the Delhi School of Economics in 1986 and started his career as a consultant.
11) The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi is creating a virtual museum space through its online summer program NAIMISHA 2021.
This unique art fiesta will provide a platform to create and engage with the arts.
The National Gallery of Modern Art is the premier art gallery under Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The main museum at Jaipur House in New Delhi was established on 29 March 1954 by the Government of India, with subsequent branches at Mumbai and Bangalore.
12) Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Satav died on Sunday following post-COVID-19 complications after 24 days of hospitalisation.
46-year-old Satav was elected to Rajya Sabha in March last year, for what was his first term in the upper house.
