1) The Assam government notified Dihing Patkai as its 7th national park. The 422 sqkm-Raimona National Park in western Assam's Kokrajhar district, was the first to be notified. With seven, Assam now has the third most national parks after 12 in Madhya Pradesh and nine in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
➨The five national parks that existed prior to the 422 sq. km Raimona are Kaziranga, Manas, Nameri, Orang and Dibru-Saikhowa.

2) Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), and Laxai Life Sciences Pvt Ltd Hyderabad, have been given the regulatory approval by DCGI to undertake a two-arm phase-II clinical trial to assess the safety and efficacy of the drug Colchicine in improvement of clinical outcomes during the treatment of COVID-19.

3) Bengali filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta has died in Kolkata of age-related complications. The director was 77. He was suffering from kidney disease and undergoing regular dialysis.
➨A film with the auteur ensured a coveted National Award win for mainstream actors. His earlier films like Dooratwa (1978), Grihajuddha (1982) and Andhi Gali (1984) focused on the Naxalite movement in Bengal and how it shaped the collective consciousness of Bengalis.

4) World Day Against Child Labor is commemorated every year on June 12 to raise awareness about the social evil of promoting and hiring children for labor.

7) American traders gained the most in Bitcoin investment last year, pocketing $4.1 billion in profits by trading in the decentralised cryptocurrency, according to estimates from Chainalysis, a blockchain analysis company.

8) Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar inaugurated the “My Safe Pune” app, an initiative by Pune city police to ensure effective patrolling by beat marshals and offer quick response to people during any incident of crime.
➨The app, a brainchild of Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, will track the movements of the beat marshals at all police stations and record various details, such as the spots they visit, along with the time of the visit during patrolling.

9) The Minister of Education released of the guidelines for the development of e-content for children with disabilities (CwDs).
